Deutsche Spielkindergruppe and German class

Every other Friday we go to the German group. I thought it is mostly for myself as I have not only met lovely people there, but also had an opportunity to chat in German. At the group we do some crafts activity and sing songs at the end. It always seemed to me that my kids just play with each other in Russian, and just listen to the songs. I was so wrong!
I had chance to witness that in the German classes that we started recently with M and L’s friend M. During the class I realised how much they gain from the group. As soon we started to sing songs they knew them all and sang them, they never did so in the group. M also participates well, listens to the teacher (though I have to translate sometimes) and even repeats after her (so atipical M).
L is kind of doing his own thing alongside the class, but as soon as he hears familiar song and familiar word or just wants to join in, he does it. We are going away for the summer to Germany. I hope so much that M and L will learn much of German and we could continue with classes on the higher level.

Erster tag in Kita!

Kids started today their first day in Kita (kindergarten). Youngster is doing really well, stayed without daddy for lunch time and a nap. I was with M all the time, but he was totally absorbed by the play with other children, especially his Russian speaking new friends 🙂 Kindergarten is bilingual, German-English, but many children speak none of the languages 🙂

At the library

We are going away soon for the whole summer, so it’s time to bring all the books backto the library. It is also an opportunity to sing at tots time on Thursday morning, that we used to do almost every Thursday. We still do once in a month or so. M likes to bring me books and we just read there, or they just play with the toys left for kids after the tots time session. We’ll come again when we are back!

Trip to a playgroup :)

On the way to our Monday playgroup so much is happening…

First, we meet cats and kids try to say hello 🙂

Then, some members of our team get tired…we are just five minutes out of the home. I can’t blame the youngster, it is a hard job to climb up the quite steep hill.

At the playgroup. As usual they have so much fun. This time the kids mostly played outside. I have been treated with the most delicious dinner (made of sand) – yam-yam 🙂

The trip was finished with an ice-cream and some fun messing around…

Butterflies :)

Today we’ve been to our Monday play group “Ladybirds”. Kids and I love it. There are lots of activities on offer, but M and L mostly prefer outside play. Today though M spent quite a lot of time by painting and created 2 beautiful butterflies 🙂

Mondays – Lady Bird play group

Almost every monday we go to a play group organised by Sure Start. It has lovely name – Lady bird 🙂

The boys and I love it. Every session has a different theme. For 6 weeks every session was dedicated to a different basic colour (red, blue, yellow and green), then black and white day and to sum up it there was colourful session. M was excited asking almost everyday when are we going the group 🙂 or we were playing a game “What colour is it going to be today” This time the theme was various bugs, butterflies, lady birds etc.
